What are polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides act as powerful skin boosters that work at a cellular level to rejuvenate and repair the skin. Once injected, they stimulate fibroblasts to increase collagen and elastin production, support tissue regeneration and healing, provide antioxidant protection by neutralizing free radicals, and enhance hydration and elasticity.
Because of these properties, polynucleotides are widely used to refresh tired or ageing skin, improve fine lines, wrinkles, and laxity, treat under-eye hollowness and dark circles, aid in scar healing (including acne scars), and boost overall skin quality and radiance.
What's our process?
Step 1
Your polynucleotide treatment journey at Enhance Clinispa begins with a detailed, consultation-led assessment. During this appointment, your skin is analysed in depth, considering factors such as skin quality, hydration, inflammation, and areas of tissue damage or ageing. We assess both surface concerns and underlying skin health to determine suitability.
You will discuss your concerns, whether that is fine lines, dullness, acne scarring, or overall skin regeneration. A personalised treatment plan is then created, outlining what can realistically be achieved with polynucleotides and how they may be combined with other treatments for optimal results. Safety, appropriateness, and long-term skin health remain the priority.

Step 2
Before receiving treatment at our Bolton botox clinic, we will invite you to a pre-treatment consultation so Dr Fab can check your medical history, discuss your concerns and examine your facial anatomy, as well as give you all the facts that you need so you can make an informed and educated decision about whether [treatment] will be suitable for you. Only then will Dr Equizi agree to administer the treatment.
Step 3
During your appointment, the treatment area is thoroughly cleansed and carefully mapped. Polynucleotides are then precisely administered into targeted areas of the skin using fine needles or cannula, depending on the indication and treatment area.
The procedure typically takes around 20–30 minutes. Discomfort is minimal, and a topical anaesthetic may be used to enhance comfort. Polynucleotides work by stimulating cellular repair, improving hydration, and supporting collagen production rather than adding volume.
Initial improvements in skin quality may begin within a few weeks, with progressive results developing over time as the skin regenerates. A course of treatments is usually recommended to achieve and maintain optimal outcomes.

FAQs
Are polynucleotides the same as dermal fillers?
No. Unlike fillers, which add volume, polynucleotides focus on regeneration and repair, improving the skin’s natural structure and hydration.
Are polynucleotides safe?
Yes. They are highly purified, biocompatible, and well-tolerated. Side effects are usually minimal, such as mild redness or swelling at the injection site.
What areas can be treated with polynucleotides?
Polynucleotides are versatile and can be used on many areas, including the face, under-eye area, neck, décolletage, and hands—anywhere skin quality and regeneration could be improved.
How are polynucleotides different from skin boosters?
While both improve hydration and skin quality, polynucleotides go further by stimulating tissue repair and collagen production, offering regenerative benefits beyond hydration alone.
